These are Very awesome and I cant let no other convince me other wise. Lets face it to the packing and to the listening are the greatest parts when u get them, I've heard about a couple in-ear around the price other competitors are selling and I'm just in shock on how these gets to me the most even the shures doesn't come close for me and it was hard keeping them in. I did let them burn in for like 12 hours but, that didnt matter it still sound close to my hifi man 400 O_O really I cant either one go. I use the re-600 for going to work on the bus with and the hifi man 400 for home, either way u cant go wrong with these cause there highly recommended. (Posted on 3/26/15)
A great example of You get what yo pay for. Review by Warren Roos

You get what yo pay for goes the old saying. The packaging is stunning with the HIFIMAN RE-600 and the slew of ear cups (if that's what you call them) is impressive. A very useful small case come with the HIFIMAN RE-600 too.

As for the sound. Using John Coltrane "Soultraine" as the test track I compared these to two one level down (Bose Klipsch) earbuds and the same price Sony XBA-H1. While I'm not an audio reviewer with all the fancy terms I will say that the HIFIMAN RE-600's sounded like live music and were to me the best sounding. The Sony XBA-H1 was a close second. The music sounded much fuller, subtleties were clear and in image teams the saxophone was out in fount of my head. Base was not overdone. These are more efficient (I guess) as the volume had to be turned down compared to the other units. No I didn't try scores of units for long times but I could hear the difference and loved what I heard. There are a lot of terrific units out there and this is one the best of them. Very impressed!! Review by Gadget67

I saw a recent review of the RE 600 on Cnet and purchased them from an Amazon seller. I use headphones for home listening (Audeze LCX) and I've ripped my entire collection in ALAC lossless format. I wanted a "decent" IEM for walking and I did not want to significantly sacrifice musical quality so the reviews from other Amazon customers (and the $200 price reduction) convinced me. These are fantastic and well worth even the original $400 price tag but there are some caveats. Here's my take so far.

Firstly, obtaining the right in ear fit is critical; numerous earbud sets are provided in the package and I was able to obtain a very good fit with one of them. Other reviewers have purchased earbuds from other sources and I will probably try some of those as well. Spending some time with obtaining a good fit will significantly enhance the experience.

Secondly, appropriate aplification is also critical. You can certainly plug these into your favorite source (IPhone, tablet, IPod, etc) and and listen to your music, but adding a portable amp and bypassing the feeble amp provided in phones and tablets will greatly enhance the experience. I'm currently using a Fiio E17 Alpen and bypassing the amp on my IPhone 6; the difference is phenomenal. If you just want to listen directly from your device, save yourself some money and buy the RE-400 for considerably less.

Finally, listening to music in a lossless format will also contribute greatly to the overall experience. Itunes downloads and mp3's sound fine when ported through my Fiio amp, but lossless files are really in another category. If you want to get the full benefit, lossless is the way to go.

I also own Sennheiser 600 headphones and RE 600 is definitely equal to those when combined with appropriate amplification and Lossless files. These are highly recommended with those enhancements.

3/17 addendum: I've purchased the T-400 Comply isolation earphone tips in medium and these fit perfectly! They are extremely comfortable and definitely kick it up a notch in terms of isolation, comfort and (most importantly) overall musicality. Highly recommended if you buy the Re-600.
